About

My story starts in Novigrad, a small Mediterranean city in Croatia.

As you can see above the sea is extremely blue which means that I spent most of my young life on it, or better to say in it as I was passionate about diving. As I grew older and my diving buddy, Erik Radin, unfortunately, left us for even nicer seas, I gave up on diving and dedicated myself to my second passion: research and investing.

This has led me to do a Ph.D. on the topic where I created a Real Value Risk Model for emerging market stocks. You can read more about that in my summary article on SSRN.

Just before I turned 30, me and my wife (www.anatabain.com) decided to see what we are made of and go to explore new horizons. We went to London, I got a job at Bloomberg but fortunately I quickly understood that this is not that life I want as spending more than 60 hours in an office working for somebody else, albeit with a great view of London and great colleagues, was not something I wished to do for the rest of my life.

As I was a high school teacher while doing my Ph.D. we moved to the Netherlands where I got a job as a finance and accounting lecturer and later an assistant professor at the Amsterdam School of International Business and the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. I loved teaching but still, the call for independence was too great and that has led me to where I am now: an independent researcher, investor and still a teacher that shares his work and insight with many fellow minded investors on YouTube and on the Stock Market Research Platform.

I will finish with what I think describes me best: I love my family, I love my life and I love what I do.
